Merry Christmas!

Santa

We took Will to see Santa at the Greenwood Park Mall this past weekend. The line was too long for us, so we made a special trip by Metropolis to see the Santa there before heading home. Unfortunately Will got too nervous when it came time for his turn with Santa and wouldn't go up to see him. While it did save us from spending $16 for a 5x7 photo, I was disappointed that he wouldn't go see him. Maybe next year...

Museum Trip

Will's sitter was closed last Friday so J. and I decided that it would be a good day for us to take off work too. The three of us made a trip to The Indianapolis Children's Museum. It was a lot less crowded than usual, so it made our trip that much more enjoyable. Unfortunately Abby had to go to school and couldn't attend.

This is the face Will gave me when I asked him if he was ready to get off the train. Apparently he thought that we were really moving and that we needed to wait until we got there to get off.

Peyton Manning Spotting

We think we spotted Peyton Manning around our neighborhood last night. He seemed a little short, so I'm not confident that it was really him.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch with Dustin, Andi, Austin, and Lilly yesterday afternoon. It included a big slide, a tractor ride to the pumpkins, pony rides for the kids, and a visit with a few livestock. Although it was a little toasty, we had a great time.

Team Work

J. and Dustin got some help aerating our yard from Will and Austin this past weekend.

100 Acres

This morning we went to explore the new 100 Acres exhibits outside the IMA. It was nice to find something that both a 14 year old and a 3 year old could enjoy!

Indian's Game

Although the sun blinded us for the majority of the game, we had a nice night at the Indian's last home game.

Flash Cards

Tonight I practiced flash cards with Will. He hasn't really mastered anything but shapes. He counts well, but doesn't recognize numbers and letters at all. (Except for "W" which he calls "my letter.")

Other than red and pink, he has troubles with his colors. Every-time we got to a brown colored shape he replied with "chocolate milk" instead of "brown." Both he and I thought it was extremely funny.

First Day of the 8th Grade

Abby took these first day of school pictures of herself. Why, you ask? Because although her bus doesn't come until 6:49am, she was "bored" and went out to the bus stop about 18 minutes early this morning. I was still hitting the snooze when I heard her exit the front door. I'd be floored if this eagerness for school makes it through Friday.

I love the State Fair!

Will, J., Abby, Shane (Abby's boyfriend), and I went to the State Fair tonight. It rained briefly when we first got there, which cooled everything down to a more comfortable level. Abby and Shane loved the midway, J. and I loved the food, and Will loved the animals and tractors.

Wow, someone asked to help???

While finishing up cleaning the house last night, Will ran in to ask if he could help. Although I initially declined his offer, his persistence allowed him the access to clean the back door.
