Christmas Morning

Will spent Christmas morning in his Jumperoo that he received the other night from Grandma Jan and Grandpa Bob.

Abby, Grandpa Bob, and Grandma Jan spent many hours working on this Christmas gift for J. It's a Gnome house, complete with a new Gnome.

Here comes the snow!

We decided to run all of our errands last night so we could fully enjoy the snowy day today. Today's agenda...be lazy!

Yuck!

I've been spending a lot of time taking pictures and videos with my new digital camera. This video is a little gross, but too cute not to share. (Thanks Dad for the early Christmas $)

Too close...

Someone needs to tell Will and Abby that they're sitting too close to the television. It was nice of Abby though to let Will have control over the remote.

Braces...

Just in case you haven't seen Abby in a couple of weeks...she's sporting some new bling. No gum from Santa this year.

Ouch!

Today Will received his first major Mom-induced injury. While cutting his nails, I accidentally got his skin. (Note the thumb band-aid above) The bleeding seemed to never end. I felt sooooo terrible. Though the lower lip came out, surprisingly there were no tears. (We both had to hold them back)

Thankfully Will wasn't too mad at me.

Having fun

Abby and her Grandma Justine enjoy creating mosaic art together. Here is a peak at some art that Abby has in the works.

Will is starting to "talk" now. It's sooo cute. He has the most to say when he's hanging out in the jungle or watching the ceiling fan.

What a nut...

Yesterday I took Abby in for another orthodontic consultation. It sounds like she is going to get braces on her front teeth at her next appointment. While discussing what steps they would be taking, it was mentioned that she would need to wear headgear. Abby's jaw dropped and stayed down until she realized that she only had to wear it at night. She was afraid that she would have to wear it to school and that everyone would make fun of her. When the orthodontist's assistant stepped out for a second, Abby turns to me and says...

"I'm glad that I don't have to wear headgear to school. I mean, I'm not the coolest person in school, but I don't want to loose any points."

Not too much new going on in the world of Abby. Here, you can catch a glimpse of her relaxing after homework. Coming soon this Fall...basketball.

Will added a first to his list this past weekend...his first story. There's no better place to start than with one of our many Berenstain Bears books!

Growing up fast!

Will used to looked like this.

Add 2 1/2 months and ...

...you get this. Good thing Abby still doesn't grow this fast!

Bath night...

Tonight's bath was a rough one. The crying finally ended, but I got this face afterwards...the "I'm mad at you Mom" face.

When J. and Abby saw the camera, they flashed a smile. Don't let them fool you. It's no one's favorite time of day...time for homework.

Keeping busy...

This weekend baby Will had his 2 month birthday, celebrated by this rare post-bath smile...

Abby celebrated her 11th birthday with friends Madison and Ashley, some cake, and a little Pizza King and bowling...

Grandma Jan and Grandpa Bob dropped off a huge pumpkin for which Abby had decorated within 10 minutes of them leaving...

J. and baby Will are happy to watch the Colt's game via Tivo after spending a birthday lunch with the Thompson family at Shapiros.

Abby loves to drive the mower around Grandma Jan's yard. This time she was happy to have her cousin Ella along for the ride.

For Avon's first day of school, Abby and Will had different ideas on how to spend it.

Our newest addition to the family...Will Kade Thompson. Born July 16th, 7 lbs 1 oz.

We upgraded our old Slip N Slide for the Triple Racer version today. Abby and her friend Riley spent a solid 2 hours testing it out. J. is hoping to make a super long lane by adding the old Slip N Slide to the middle lane of this one. We hope to be able to test out his idea within the next few weeks. We'll be sure to have everyone over to try it out.

Abby is attending basketball camp everyday this week from 12:30-2:00. She has enjoyed making herself comfortable in the office next to ours in the afternoons. It doesn't seem like she really gets any work done though. :)

Graduation Party

Tonight Abby went to her 4th Grade Graduation Party at the new roller rink. Soon Elementary school will be a thing of the past. She asked if she could change clothes before she went. I told her that it was fine as long as she wore tall socks since she would be changing into skates. I guess that I should have been a bit more clear. :)

Cookies

I was making dinner tonight, so I let Abby do all the measuring for the cookies. It went pretty well until she got to the flour. We almost had a batch of peanut butter cookies that contained only 1 1/2 cups of flour instead of 2 1/2 cups. She tossed on this blue apron before we started. Judging from the picture it doesn't look like it would have helped out that much if we had a big mess.

When Abby mentioned that she had a surprise for us in her backpack, we weren't exactly sure what to expect. We were more than proud when we discovered her excellent report card and that she had made the honor roll!
