A Quick Trip to the Children's Museum

Conrad

Will's cousin Conrad came over tonight for a few hours. Although the first half was all about stealing each others toys, the night ended smoothly after J. built them a couch fort.

Museum Trip

Yesterday we made a trip with Will to The Indiana State Museum. Will loved the train trip, but was a little timid about his first trip to see Santa. The video upload turned out a little foggy, but you can get the basic idea.

The Christmas Train

We decided to put our Christmas train in the bonus room this year instead of around the tree. That way we wouldn't have to climb under the tree each time it derails. Sadly our 2 year old loves it too much. Every 3 minutes I hear "Mommy, Hey!" (Which means he's knocked the train off the track again somehow...or he can't get his guy to stay on the train car...or there's been some other horrific "choo-choo" accident that needs my immediate attention)

We Used to Make Fun

Halloween is over, but the hat lives on. Will decided that it was critical to wear his Woody hat to run errands today. We did get a few "Hey, there's Woody" today even though he was wearing his hat with his Colt's jersey. "Choose your battles" is something J. and I say on a daily basis now.

Happy Halloween!

We went to the Zoo a couple weekends ago with the Rock family for ZooBoo. Thankfully it wasn't too cold. That day, Conrad went as a blue dino and Ella sported some hot pink hair. Unfortunately, I didn't get any great pictures. My hours on ebay did pay off though when Will (Woody from "Toy Story") discovered a following from most of the kids around the zoo.

Fish N There

Tonight I found a dead fish in the tank. When I went to grab the net out of the laundry room, Will opted to pour half the fish food container through the little door at the top of the tank. His feelings seemed upset when I expressed my disappointment that he had (overly) fed the fish without me and that now I had to clean out all the excess food.

Officially a Big Boy

We purchased a gently used toddler car bed from a family here in Avon. J. decided to leave the crib up just in case Will decided the new bed wasn't going to work out. He didn't need it though. With the exception of a little extra talking at bedtime and surprisingly a few seconds of singing, he was sleeping in no time. No more baby Will. Sniff, sniff

Corn on the Cob

Tonight, like most nights, Will completely ignored the corn on his plate. I handed him my corn on the cob to be funny. Much to all of our surprise, he loved it.

The Final Swim of the Summer

Will, Abby, and Abby's friend Rachel were able to celebrate Abby's birthday a little early with a final Summer swim in Grandma Jan's pool.

I can't figure out who Will looks like anymore. Maybe its time to get back to the J. look-a-like haircut for the Fall.

Summer While it Lasts...

We squeezed in some late Summer wiffle ball to celebrate Marlin and Robbi's birthdays. I am working to save for a new camera so you can actually tell what's going on in the blog pictures and how red Abby's pants were on the first day of school. :) Jake on the other hand can manage to pull off a distinguished picture in all situations.

Smile...

We adventured over to the Monon Trail today. It turned out to be a little hotter than I had expected, so we made a guilt-free stop at the snow-cone stand.

Are You Ready for Some Football

Abby got to attend her first Colts game on Friday thanks to Grandpa Marlin. Funny...I was denied when I tried to draw a horseshoe on her cheek before they left for the game.

1st Day of School

Abby showed her 1st day excitement by sporting some bright red pants. She seemed surprisingly excited about starting back to school.

Will on the other hand, who's used to leaving Abby (not Abby leaving him), sadly repeated "AbbyT" over and over again at the window until the bus came.

I Love the State Fair

Will has yet to gain the excitement that J. and I have for the state fair. I look forward to it the whole year. Will, on the other hand, refused any fair food we offered his way and the only smile from him came at our last stop (the mowers and tractors section).

August Already

Abby and her friend Rachel camped out in our backyard last night. Sadly, Summer break will end soon for them with the start of 7th grade on August 12th.

Any Suggestions?

Today J. discovered this in one of our trees. We have lived here almost 5 years and this is the first time anything has ever developed from this tree. Any suggestions on what we've got working? This "thing" is the only one growing in this tree.

Nice to Have a Little Help

A Busy Weekend

We had an exciting, but busy weekend filled with a truck show, some camping, and Will's 2nd birthday party.

Happy 2nd Birthday Will!

We decided to give Will his presents from us on his real birthday instead of at the party. He got new shoes, a Hot Wheels track (that J. has been drooling over for a long time now), and a Buzz and Woody doll from Will's all-time favorite movie.
